Tomato Sauce with Onion and Prosciutto (ham)

Format: Prosciutto (Ham) and Onion Tomato Sauce 200g /7,05 oz

This is a sauce made with tomatoes from our lands together with a selection of Emilia ham. To all this, we add the famous golden onion from Medicina, which is a source of pride for Bologna area. The lightly spicy flavour of the onion balances the meat taste. The sweet and pleasant Cervia sea salt completes the recipe which represents at best the traditional Emilian cuisine.

Storage: at room temperature. After opening, store in fridge.

TASTING SUGGESTIONS

Cook in saltwater 200 g of “Gramigna” (short pasta) paying attention to keep it “al dente”.

While the pasta is cooking, put in a pan a jar of Ham and Golden Onion Sauce and heat it, stirring it from time to time. Drain the pasta and place it in a pan. Sauté gramigna with the sauce until it has absorbed it. Serve it with a sprinkle of Parmigiano-Reggiano on top.

Prepare a polenta with yellow maize flour, paying attention to keep it soft. For two people you need about 100 g of flour. Separately, heat in a pot a jar of 200 g of Ham and Golden Onion Sauce. When the polenta is cooked, serve it hot with the sauce and Parmigiano-Reggiano. 

Prepare a pizza dough using about 500 g of “00” flour. Add two jars of 200 g of Sausage and Golden Onion Sauce, having care to spread the sauce evenly on the pizza. You may want to add some fresh mushrooms. Put into the oven for 15 minutes at 280°c and serve it cut in slices.
